The training will prepare participants to verify compliance with the COR Livestock Standard. It is also recommended for organic handlers, processors, consultants, educators, extension, and certification agency staff. We have 18 "farm chore" style obstacles laid out on the organic farm, including onion sack hauling, tomato crushing, tractor tire flipping and more. The event finishes with wine tasting from our local surrounding wineries, organic food and live music. We also have a shorter race for kids, camping for the weekend and tons of laughs! 17 Student Awareness Event 2903 Powerhouse Dr Regina, SK S4N 0A1 September 26 Over 100 middle years students from across southern Saskatchewan will collect at the Science Centre for a field day of learning. The students will be working their way through about 15 stations set up to give them an awareness of organics, good food, plants, the environment, the use of insects in a positive light, composting, and sustainability of resources. A local Chef will have samples of organic food for the students to snack on and Dag Falck of Nature's Path will lead the students through the process of planting a seed that they can take home with them. 13 Manitoba Premiere of Symphony of the Soil Manitoba The Organic Food Council of Manitoba will be screening Symphony of the Soil in three cities during Organic Week. Any profits from the screenings will be used to support OFCM’s important educational work. 06 IOIA Webinar : Canada Organic Regime Livestock Standards Canada This webinar is a two part series. Each part is 3 hours in duration. Enrollment is limited to 20. The webinar is available in the US and Canada via phone or VOIP, available elsewhere via VOIP. This 100 level webinar training course will cover the Canadian Organic Regime (COR) as it pertains to livestock operations. The training will prepare participants to verify compliance with the COR Livestock Standard. This course is geared to prepare those who intend to take further training to become organic inspectors or file reviewers and for working inspectors and reviewers who have taken a basic livestock inspection course to a standard other than the COR. It is also recommended for organic handlers, processors, consultants, educators, extension, and certification agency staff. This course can be used as a credential to seek work as an entry-level certification file reviewer. September 25-October 2
